I'm not sure what some of these verses have to do about concubines but I wanted to show you that it is in the bible, both about having concubines and slaves and how not to treat them... and see how the bible is contradictory? It's like nobody proofread anything before putting their own 2 cents in. lol. But this is what I could find. Now I'm going to put in some of my favorite verses (yep, I have verses that I love).
1 Corinthians 16:14 ESV
Let all that you do be done in love.
(I love this verse because it's like the Wiccan rule: "If ye harm none, do what ye will." It's the same principle.)
1 John 4:7 ESV
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
(this was from a song that I learned back when I went to St Peter. I can't remember how the rest goes but I remember singing this and the melody. If I find the rest of the verse or the whole song I will put it in here.) It's 1 John 4:7-8. That's the whole verse.
John 15:9-17 ESV
As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. ...
(I could spend all day putting verses in here about love and friendship which are my favorite verses in the bible and frankly, the only ones worth reading imo. But I wanted to just give you an idea of which verses I am drawn to and that will always stay with me.)
