12/25/12

Part Two.

12/25/12
-----------
Rita!  Welcome to part two of the notebook volume 11!  I was going to wait until New Years to write, but I was excited.  Lol.  So, Merry Christmas!  How has yours been?  I’ve had a nice one.  Kind of weird, but good.  Brian and I were exhausted from shopping (still) on Christmas Eve.  Around 7pm we went to dinner at Seacrest Grill.  My friend Ryan (Mynhier) is a chef there.  He invited us to go, which is cool but not just because he’s nice.  Basically, he likes this girl, Jen, who is a bartender at Skeeter’s, and since I’m friendly with her, I think he figured she’d go if I invited her.  The thing is, she has a boyfriend.  Her boyfriend is Jeff and Jeff used to be in a relationship with Hattie.  Hattie is Ryan’s (the guy interested in Jen) best friend.  I do not like Jeff.  He is super cocky and I get bad vibes from him.  I haven’t heard good things about him either, so yea.  To be honest, I think Ryan is only trying to hook up with her so he can “put it to Jeff” if that makes any sense.  So, I invited Jen on Friday to come with Brian and I to dinner on Christmas Eve.  She was all for it, but then Christmas Eve came and she was “so sick.”  (I found out later she and Jeff were at the party I’d invited her to go to as well).  It’s cool with me if you don’t go, but why you’d lie about it.  This is also the girl that is going to AA meetings and still bartending.  I offered to go with her for support but that didn’t pan out:
1) because Linda invited me to help groom
and 2) Linda told me she should go by herself.
I probably won’t invite her out again but she’s nice.  Brian says she looks like his ex, Jen.  Which, whatever.  So, just Brian and I went. The food was “Prix Fixe” (which means that you got a main entree--there’s only a select few options--a soup or salad, and an appetizer, and dessert.  There’s only like 4 or 5 appetizers to choose from, a soup and 3 salads to choose from, and you get what you get for dessert).
So Brian got:
1. Crab and salmon “fancy name” appetizer
2. Caeser salad
3. “fancy name” pork chops
4. we shared cheesecake/chocolate ganash.

I had:
1. Filet sliders
2. seacrest salad
3. tuscan chicken
 4. shared dessert.

Now, I wish I had taken pictures but oh well.  It was all delicious.  The filet slider could’ve been a small dinner all its own!  So that was my fancy Christmas Eve dinner.  After that, we finished wrapping gifts and then headed to Ryan Mac’s house for the annual Christmas Eve party.  By the time we got there it was 11:30pm and everyone was already pretty much gone. Ryan’s dad (also named Brian) threw a fit.  Apparently, Vicki put shot glasses in the sink and somehow they got crushed in the garbage disposal and so he flipped.  Then we had to come back to Brian’s mom and dad’s house for gifts.  I am not entirely sure why they do gifts at 1am but whatever.  Stephanie was TRASHED and so I drove her home. When we got there, Barb was still wrapping gifts.  I ended up passing out on the couch by 3am because we still hadn’t opened gifts.  I was so cranky too and a comment Brody made pissed me off.  He basically went outside with Brian and said “sometimes I like to be alone with my dad.”  You know, I understand that but it’s CHRISTMAS and he’s mine too.  The thing is that it’s not like Brian doesn’t try. He works and runs around like crazy trying to make all the bills, and spend time with both Brody and me.  He also likes (and deserves) his war craft time.  I only wish he held Brody more accountable.  Alright, I will continue this another time.  I’m going home.
