When you're gone by Avril Lavigne
---------------------------------
I've never felt this way before
everything that I do
reminds me of you
and the clothes you left
they lie on the floor
and they smell just like you
I love the things that you do
when you walk away
I count the steps that you take
do you see how much I need you right now?
When you're gone
the pieces of my heart are missing you
when you're gone
the face I came to know is missing too
and when you're gone
The words I need to hear to always get me through the day
and make it okay
I miss you
we were made for each other
out here forever
I knew we were
yeah yeah
all I ever wanted it was for you to know
everything I do I give my heart and soul
I can hardly breathe, I need to feel you here with me
yeah

I swear that everytime Brian and I are in the car together this song is on but I never hear it any other time. The past like 10+ times I've heard it, I was driving Brian to work or he was driving me or we were going somewhere. And it was never around the same time. It just reminds me of how much I missed him when I left for the first time during that first trip to Florida. Even though it's been 4 years and we're still together, if he left or if I had to leave... I'm pretty sure I could handle it but I wouldn't want to.
Chel's meaning: This song reminds me of all the confusion I have over Ryan and David. Like, if I really left David I would feel this exact way. I know it. And yet I always wonder "what if" with Ryan.

Chel's favorite songs
---------------------
Hey Chels! Well, I have already done some of my favorite songs and what certain parts mean to me. It's like... you listen to a song and there's a verse or a part that really gets to you. Since I can't ask you what those parts are for you (because that would totally mean ruining this awesome project I have put together), I am going to put down the lyrics to 10 of the songs you gave me on the list. I have also provided some user comments to what some of the songs may mean. But I want you to highlight the parts that are your favorites and write about what those mean to you. Aka... memories you may have while listening to them, or just thoughts or feelings you get when you first read them.
This first song is by The Calling and it's called "wherever you will go." Now... I thought it was pretty cool that you put that song on your list cuz I actually have a story that goes with it. One Wednesday while I was driving to my 2nd shift at work I just had this thought in my head, "I miss Joe." And then I started bawling (I think this was also before my period so I was PMSing like mad crazy). Anywho, I flipped the station and this song came on the radio Now... read the lyrics and then read what someone said about it.
I could not find lyrics to one of the songs I chose, but I did happen to find another song that I think you would appreciate. It's at the end of this project.
Wherever You Will Go by The Calling
-----------------------------------
so lately, been wondering
who will be there to take my place
when I'm gone you'll need love
to light the shadows on your face
if a great wave shall fall and fall upon us all
then between the sand and stone
could you make it on your own
if I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go
and maybe, I'll find out
a way to make it back someday
to watch you, to guide you
through the darkest of your days
if a great wave shall fall, and fall upon us all
then I hope there's someone out there who
can bring me back to you
if I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go
run away with my heart
run away with my hope
run away with my love
I know now, just quite how
my life and love might still go on
in your heart, in your mind
I'll stay with you for all of time
If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go
If I could make you mine
I'll go wherever you will go
I'll go wherever you will go

*Apparently the writer of the lyrics was talking about someone dying, leaving a loved one behind. The dying person wants to make sure the one continuing to live will be alright, and will do anything and go anywhere to stay together. I love this song but it makes me sad; it reminds me of how mortal we are and the pain of death separating people.
Chel's meaning: It makes me think of death. It always has. Now it makes me think of the fact that I know my loved ones in heaven are all watching me going wherever I go.
